Fairfield Care is Up and Running

The following news received this morning, the Fairfield Care, located at 503 Hilltop Lane, Fairfield, WA, is up and running is welcome news to the residents of the Palouse.

"The Fairfield community was saddened by the closure of the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in 2010, but citizens of the community stepped up with donations and volunteer work, and Fairfield Care was established. A lot of work had to be done, with much still left as funding is available, but we are happy to report that the apartments are beginning to fill up. A short stay apartment is also available. See Peggy Ostheller at the Fairfield Owl Pharmacy for reservations. Rates are $50.00 per night or $300 per week.
"Volunteer help from Primeland employees and board members helped clean up the leaves and trim the shrubbery around the building. An Easter egg hunt was held in April, and it is hoped that units will be opened in June in the assisted living wing of Fairfield Care. This will be managed by Sunshine Health Facilities, Inc [SHFI] out of Spokane, and they are hoping to staff it with local employees. A place for seniors to meet for coffee is planned in the dining area.

"If you know of someone interested in downsizing or in need of a little care, check the website http://www.fairfieldcare.org/, or contact us at or call (509) 370-4360 (cell) or (509) 291-3925 (home)."
