February is National Boy Scouts' Birthday month. Many of our servicemen were in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts when growing up, and often their parents were involved along with them. To celebrate, on February 26, 2012 MarineMoms-Bethesda will host a "Blue and Gold Banquet" themed-luncheon on 4 East, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
Marine Moms-Bethesda is a group of caring volunteers supporting the wounded, injured and ill combat troops and their families, all service branches, at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
If your Troop, Den, or Pack would like to send cards to be distributed on the day of the luncheon in honor of the birthday to thank older Scouts who have sacrificed so much.
Guidelines for sending cards: Flat-faced cards work best. Please - no glitter or anything that can fall off of the cards. These can fall into open wounds causing secondary infections.

MarineMoms-Bethesda's mission is to provide a monthly luncheon, gift bags, and pantry items to the wounded, injured, and ill combat Veterans, all service branches, and their families, at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. "We would like them to know they are in the hearts and prayers of America as we bring "touches of home" for them to their "home away from home," they explain. "We are military parents, troop supporters, and Veterans who deeply appreciate the sacrifices made by our military. What we do is made possible by donations. Every penny donated is used toward our mission. We are not affiliated in any way with, nor are we endorsed by, the USMC the DoD, or any other official agency."
