Although June 18, 2011 in Rockford was cool and definitely wet, more than two dozen people joined to fete local Firemen on the tree-shaded grounds of Rockford Park in the rural Washington town's first Firemen Appreciation Day. The covered banquet area was much appreciated.
Vivian Plank, Manger of Banner Bank, expressed the general feelings of participants when she said, "We had a ball!"

Missy Boleck - Spiciest Chili
Nancy Kay Smith - Best Cornbread.
